Description
A fun, dippable, and extra-crispy twist on the classic grilled cheese sandwich using soft bread and melty cheese.
Ingredients
8 slices soft white bread
8 slices American or Cheddar cheese
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Trim the crusts off each slice of white bread using a sharp knife.
Step 2: Use a rolling pin to flatten each slice of bread until it is thin and pliable.
Step 3: Place one slice of cheese on each piece of flattened bread, trimming the cheese to fit if necessary.
Step 4: Tightly roll up each bread slice into a log shape.
Step 5: Spread the softened butter generously over the outside of each roll.
Step 6: Place a non-stick skillet over medium-low heat.
Step 7: Cook the rolls seam-side down first, then rotate until all sides are golden brown and cheese is melted.
Step 8: Serve immediately while hot and gooey.
Notes
Ensure the bread is fresh to prevent cracking. If the bread is dry, a quick 5-second burst in the microwave can help.
