Description

An easy and delicious grilled pineapple recipe that caramelizes the natural sugars, creating a sweet, smoky, and juicy treat perfect as a dessert or side dish. This grilled pineapple recipe is a summer staple.

Ingredients

Scale

1 large fresh pineapple, ripe but firm
1 tbsp neutral oil (like canola or grapeseed)
2 tbsp brown sugar (optional, for extra caramelization)
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)
1/4 tsp chili powder (optional, for a sweet-spicy kick)
Fresh lime wedges, for serving (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare your pineapple. Cut off the top and bottom of the pineapple. Stand it upright and carefully slice away the skin in strips, following the curve of the fruit. Use a small paring knife to remove any 'eyes'. Slice the pineapple into 1/2 to 3/4-inch thick rounds or spears. If making rings, use a small cookie cutter or apple corer to remove the tough core.
Step 2: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 375-400°F or 190-200°C). Clean the grill grates thoroughly with a wire brush to prevent sticking.
Step 3: Lightly brush both sides of the pineapple slices or chunks with neutral oil. If desired, sprinkle evenly with brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and/or chili powder.
Step 4: Carefully place the seasoned pineapple directly on the preheated grill grates. Grill for 2-4 minutes per side, until beautiful golden-brown grill marks appear and the pineapple is slightly softened and caramelized.
Step 5: Remove the grilled pineapple from the grill and transfer to a serving platter. Serve warm, optionally with a squeeze of fresh lime juice or a sprinkle of fresh mint. Enjoy this delightful grilled pineapple recipe!

Notes
