Description
A refreshing and vibrant blended mango margarita, perfect for any sunny day or fiesta. Made with fresh mango, zesty lime, and a touch of good quality tequila, this recipe will transport you to a tropical paradise with every sip.
Ingredients
1 ½ cups fresh or frozen mango chunks (from about 2 large mangoes)
4 oz (½ cup) blanco tequila
2 oz (¼ cup) fresh lime juice
1-2 oz (2-4 tablespoons) agave nectar or simple syrup, to taste
1 cup ice (more if using fresh mango)
Coarse salt or chili-lime seasoning, for rimming (optional)
Lime wedges, for garnish
Fresh mango slices, for garnish
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare your mangoes. If using fresh mangoes, peel them carefully and cut the flesh into chunks, avoiding the pit. If you want an extra frosty drink, you can freeze these chunks for at least 30 minutes prior to blending.
Step 2: Rim your glasses (optional but highly recommended!). Pour about 1-2 tablespoons of coarse salt or chili-lime seasoning onto a small, flat plate. Take a lime wedge and run it around the rim of your margarita glasses to moisten them. Dip the moistened rim into the salt or seasoning, rotating gently to coat evenly. Set aside.
Step 3: Combine ingredients in a blender. Add the mango chunks, blanco tequila, fresh lime juice, agave nectar (start with 1 oz/2 tbsp), and ice to your blender. Ensure your blender is capable of handling ice for a smooth consistency.
Step 4: Blend until smooth. Secure the lid and blend on high speed until the mixture is completely smooth and no ice chunks remain. You're looking for a thick, slushy consistency similar to a smoothie. If it's too thick, add a tiny splash of water or a bit more lime juice; if it's too thin, add a few more ice cubes and blend again.
Step 5: Taste and adjust. Pour a small amount into a spoon and taste. This is your chance to customize! Does it need more sweetness? Add another tablespoon of agave nectar. More tang? A squeeze of lime. More kick? A splash more tequila. Blend again briefly after each addition.
Step 6: Pour and garnish. Carefully pour the blended mango margarita mixture into your prepared glasses.
Step 7: Serve immediately with garnishes. Adorn each glass with a fresh lime wedge and a thin slice of mango. For an extra touch of flair, consider skewering a small piece of mango onto the rim. Enjoy your perfectly crafted mango margarita recipe right away!
Notes
For an extra frosty drink, freeze your mango chunks beforehand. Adjust sweetness to your taste preference by adding more agave nectar or simple syrup. This recipe can be easily scaled up for larger gatherings.
