Exceedingly fluffy Southern-style biscuits baked in a pool of melted butter and filled with juicy peaches.
Ingredients
240 g self-rising flour
30 g granulated sugar
150 g diced peaches (fresh, frozen, or drained canned)
360 ml whole milk
115 g unsalted butter, melted
120 g powdered sugar
5 ml alcohol-free vanilla
15 ml milk (to thin the glaze)
Instructions
Step 1: Melt 115g of butter in an 8x8 inch baking dish in a preheated 450°F oven.
Step 2: In a bowl, combine 240g self-rising flour, 30g sugar, and 150g diced peaches.
Step 3: Add 360ml milk and stir until a wet batter forms; do not overmix.
Step 4: Pour the batter over the melted butter in the hot dish and spread evenly.
Step 5: Score the batter into 9 squares and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden.
Step 6: Whisk powdered sugar, vanilla, and 15ml milk, then drizzle over hot biscuits.
