Description

Indulge in a luxurious homemade pizza featuring earthy sautéed mushrooms, melted fresh mozzarella, and the intoxicating aroma of truffle oil, all on a perfectly crisp crust. This recipe elevates your pizza night to a gourmet experience, making a divine pizza with mushrooms mozzarella and truffle right in your own kitchen.

Ingredients

Scale

1 pound store-bought or homemade pizza dough
2 tablespoons olive oil, plus more for brushing
1 cup mixed mushrooms (cremini, shiitake, oyster), cleaned and sliced
1/2 teaspoon salt, divided
1/4 teaspoon black pepper, divided
1 cup (4 oz) fresh mozzarella, torn into small pieces and patted dry, or low-moisture shredded mozzarella
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
1-2 tablespoons white or black truffle oil, to taste
Fresh parsley or chives, chopped, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare your oven and dough. Preheat your oven to its highest setting (450-500°F or 230-260°C) with a pizza stone, baking steel, or an inverted heavy baking sheet inside. Lightly flour your work surface and stretch your pizza dough into a 12-inch circle. Place it on a piece of parchment paper or a lightly floured pizza peel.
Step 2: Sauté the mushrooms. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced mushrooms, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 1/8 teaspoon black pepper. Sauté for 5-7 minutes, until the mushrooms are tender and have released their moisture. Set aside.
Step 3: Build the pizza base. Brush the stretched pizza dough lightly with 1 tablespoon of olive oil. If using truffle paste, spread a very thin layer evenly over the olive oil. This is the base for your delicious pizza with mushrooms mozzarella and truffle.
Step 4: Add toppings. Distribute the sautéed mushrooms evenly over the olive-oiled dough. Scatter the torn or shredded mozzarella over the mushrooms. If using, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
Step 5: Bake the pizza. Carefully slide the pizza (with the parchment paper if using) onto the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet in the oven. Bake for 8-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and slightly caramelized. Rotate halfway through baking if needed for even cooking. Ensure the edges of your pizza with mushrooms mozzarella and truffle are perfectly crisp.
Step 6: Finish with truffle. Once the pizza is out of the oven, immediately drizzle generously with truffle oil. If you have fresh truffles, shave them over the hot pizza now. This finishing touch brings out the full aroma of your gourmet pizza with mushrooms mozzarella and truffle.
Step 7: Garnish and serve. Garnish with fresh parsley or chives, if desired. Let the pizza rest for 1-2 minutes before slicing and serving hot. Enjoy your exquisite pizza with mushrooms mozzarella and truffle!

Notes

For best results, use fresh pizza dough and high-quality truffle oil. Pre-cooking the mushrooms is crucial to prevent a watery pizza. If using fresh mozzarella, be sure to pat it very dry.
