A tender, zesty chicken dish cooked low and slow in a rich, citrusy butter sauce.
Ingredients
2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts
1/2 cup unsalted butter, sliced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 large lemon, juiced and zested
1/2 cup low-sodium chicken broth
1 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp onion powder
Salt and black pepper to taste
Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
Step 1: Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, onion powder, and oregano.
Step 2: Place the chicken in the bottom of a 6-quart slow cooker.
Step 3: Whisk together the chicken broth, garlic, lemon juice, and lemon zest in a small bowl.
Step 4: Pour the lemon mixture over the chicken pieces.
Step 5: Place the butter slices on top of the chicken.
Step 6: Cover and cook on 'Low' for 4-6 hours until the chicken reaches 165°F.
Step 7: Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with the accumulated juices.
Notes
Use chicken thighs for an even juicier result. Add red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
