Description

A vibrant, refreshing, and incredibly easy berry smoothie packed with nutrients, perfect for a quick breakfast or healthy snack.

Ingredients

Scale

1 cup frozen mixed berries
1 medium ripe banana (fresh or frozen)
1 cup fresh spinach (or 1/2 cup frozen spinach)
1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk (or milk of choice)
1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
1 tbsp chia seeds (optional, for extra fiber and omega-3s)
Sweetener to taste (e.g., honey, maple syrup, 1 date - optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Add the liquid. Pour the unsweetened almond milk (or your milk of choice) into your blender cup first. This helps the blades move smoothly.
Step 2: Add softer ingredients. Next, add the fresh spinach. If using frozen spinach, you can add it now as well.
Step 3: Add frozen fruits and optional extras. Add the frozen mixed berries, banana (fresh or frozen), vanilla extract (if using), and chia seeds (if using).
Step 4: Blend until smooth. Secure the lid on your blender and blend on low speed initially, gradually increasing to high, until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. If it's too thick, add a tablespoon of milk at a time until desired consistency is reached.
Step 5: Taste and adjust. Taste the smoothie and add any desired sweetener (honey, maple syrup, or a date) if you prefer it sweeter. Blend again briefly to incorporate.
Step 6: Serve immediately. Pour into a glass and enjoy your nutritious Berry Blast Smoothie!

Notes

For an extra cold smoothie, use all frozen fruit. To increase protein, add a scoop of your favorite protein powder or 1/4 cup Greek yogurt. Adjust sweetness to your preference. If you don't have almond milk, any dairy or non-dairy milk will work.
