Description

Adorable vanilla cupcakes decorated to look like mini bowls of spaghetti and meatballs using buttercream, strawberry glaze, and truffles.


Ingredients

Scale

12 vanilla cupcakes, baked and cooled
2 cups vanilla buttercream frosting
1 drop yellow food coloring gel
1/2 cup strawberry pie filling or strawberry glaze
12 Ferrero Rocher truffles
1 tbsp grated white chocolate


Instructions

Step 1: Tint the buttercream frosting with a tiny drop of yellow food coloring to create a pale pasta color.
Step 2: Fit a piping bag with a small round tip (like a #3 or #4) and fill it with the frosting.
Step 3: Pipe the frosting back and forth over the top of each cupcake in overlapping layers to look like a mound of spaghetti noodles.
Step 4: Spoon a small dollop of strawberry glaze over the center of the 'spaghetti' to look like marinara sauce.
Step 5: Place one Ferrero Rocher truffle in the middle of each cupcake to act as the meatball.
Step 6: Spoon another tiny bit of strawberry glaze over the truffle, then dust with grated white chocolate to resemble parmesan cheese.

Notes

Ensure cupcakes are completely cold before piping. Use gel color to prevent the frosting from becoming runny.
