Description
A lightning-fast, incredibly flavorful spicy garlic shrimp recipe that's perfect for busy weeknights. Succulent shrimp are coated in a vibrant, zesty sauce with plenty of garlic and a kick of chili.
Ingredients
1.5 lbs large shrimp, peeled and deveined (tail on or off, your preference)
4-5 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (or more, to taste)
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp unsalted butter
1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
Step 1: Pat the shrimp dry thoroughly with paper towels. Season lightly with salt and black pepper.
Step 2: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering. Add the shrimp in a single layer and cook for 1-2 minutes per side, until pink and opaque. Do not overcrowd the pan; cook in batches if necessary. Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
Step 3: Reduce heat to medium. Add butter to the skillet, allowing it to melt. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
Step 4: Pour in the fresh lemon juice and stir, scraping any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Let it simmer for 30 seconds.
Step 5: Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet. Toss gently to coat the shrimp in the sauce. Cook for another 1 minute, just to heat through.
Step 6: Remove from heat, stir in the fresh parsley. Serve immediately and enjoy these fantastic shrimp recipes!
Notes
For extra flavor, marinate the shrimp in a tablespoon of olive oil, a pinch of salt, and a quarter teaspoon of red pepper flakes for 15 minutes before cooking. Ensure your pan is hot enough before adding shrimp to get a nice sear without overcooking.
