Create a ghoulishly good snack with these easy-to-assemble salami, mozzarella, and olive appetizers, perfect for your Halloween party.
Ingredients
12 slices salami
12 small fresh mozzarella balls
12 pimento-stuffed green olives
12 skewers (6-inch)
Optional: black olives or cherry tomatoes for garnish
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare your ingredients by draining any liquid from the mozzarella balls and olives. If using optional garnishes, prepare them as well.
Step 2: Fold each slice of salami in half or in quarters, depending on the size of your mozzarella balls, to create a base for the eyeball.
Step 3: Place one fresh mozzarella ball on top of the folded salami. Then, gently press one pimento-stuffed green olive onto the front of the mozzarella ball, with the pimento facing outwards, to form the 'iris' and 'pupil'.
Step 4: Carefully thread a 6-inch skewer through the olive, then the mozzarella ball, and finally through the salami to hold all components together. Repeat for the remaining eyeballs. Arrange on a platter and serve immediately, or chill briefly before serving. If desired, add optional black olive slices or cherry tomato pieces for extra spooky detailing.
Notes
For an extra bloody effect, you can dab a tiny bit of sriracha or red food coloring gel around the pimento of the olive. For a vegetarian option, replace salami with a slice of roasted red pepper or a thick slice of cucumber.
