Description

This ultimate blended strawberry margarita recipe is your go-to for a refreshing, sweet, and tangy cocktail perfect for summer days or any celebration. Made with fresh or frozen strawberries, quality tequila, and zesty lime, it's easy to make and impossible to resist.

Ingredients

Scale

2 cups frozen strawberries (or fresh, then add more ice)
6 oz (180 ml) Blanco tequila
2 oz (60 ml) orange liqueur (e.g., Cointreau or triple sec)
4 oz (120 ml) fresh lime juice, squeezed from about 3-4 limes
1-2 oz (30-60 ml) simple syrup or agave nectar (adjust to taste)
1 cup ice cubes (reduce if using all frozen strawberries)
Lime wedges and coarse salt or sugar, for rimming (optional)
Fresh strawberries, for garnish

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare your serving glasses by running a lime wedge around the rim, then dipping the rim into a shallow plate of coarse salt or sugar to coat. Set aside.
Step 2: In a high-powered blender, combine the frozen strawberries, Blanco tequila, orange liqueur, fresh lime juice, and 1 ounce of simple syrup or agave nectar.
Step 3: Add about 1 cup of ice cubes. If using mostly frozen strawberries, you might need less ice to achieve a thick, slushy consistency.
Step 4: Blend on high speed until the mixture is completely smooth and no chunks of ice or strawberries remain. If it's too thick, add a tiny splash of water or more lime juice. If it's too thin, add a few more frozen strawberries or ice.
Step 5: Taste the strawberry margarita mixture and adjust sweetness if desired by adding the remaining 1 ounce of simple syrup or agave nectar. Blend again briefly to combine.
Step 6: Pour the blended strawberry margarita into your prepared glasses.
Step 7: Garnish each glass with a fresh strawberry slice or a lime wedge. Serve immediately and enjoy your frosty, delicious strawberry margarita recipe!

Notes

For an extra frosty drink, chill your serving glasses in the freezer for at least 15-20 minutes before preparing your margaritas. Adjust the amount of simple syrup or agave nectar to suit your preferred level of sweetness and the ripeness of your strawberries. For a spicier kick, add a thin slice of jalapeño to the blender.
