Description

A vibrant and refreshing non-alcoholic drink packed with fresh berries, cooling mint, and a zesty splash of lime, topped with sparkling water. Perfect for any summer gathering or a relaxing afternoon.

Ingredients

Scale

1/2 cup mixed fresh berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries)
6-8 fresh mint leaves
1 tbsp fresh lime juice
1-2 tbsp simple syrup (adjust to taste)
Ice
1 cup chilled sparkling water
Fresh berries and mint sprigs, for garnish

Instructions

Step 1: In a sturdy mixing glass or cocktail shaker, combine the mixed fresh berries, mint leaves, and fresh lime juice.
Step 2: Using a muddler, gently press down on the berries and mint a few times. The goal is to release their juices and aromatic oils, not to mash them to a pulp. Be gentle with the mint to avoid bitterness.
Step 3: Add the simple syrup to the muddled mixture. Start with 1 tablespoon and adjust later based on your sweetness preference and the tartness of your berries.
Step 4: Fill the mixing glass with ice, then stir vigorously for about 30 seconds. This chills the mixture thoroughly and helps to further infuse the flavors.
Step 5: Strain the mixture into two glasses filled with fresh ice. For a smoother drink, use a fine-mesh sieve to catch any berry seeds or mint fragments.
Step 6: Top each glass with chilled sparkling water. Pour slowly to maintain the effervescence.
Step 7: Garnish each Berry Mint Summer Sparkler with a few fresh berries and a sprig of mint. Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious summer mocktail!

Notes

For a sweeter mocktail, increase the simple syrup. For a tarter drink, add a bit more lime juice. You can also make a large batch of the muddled berry-mint base ahead of time and store it in the fridge; simply top with sparkling water when ready to serve.
