Description

A vibrant and refreshing sangria bursting with fresh summer berries, citrus, and a hint of brandy. Perfect for any warm-weather gathering, these summer sangria recipes are endlessly customizable and incredibly easy to make ahead.

Ingredients

Scale

1 (750ml) bottle dry red wine (e.g., Tempranillo or Garnacha)
1/2 cup brandy
1/4 cup orange liqueur (e.g., Triple Sec or Cointreau)
1/4 cup simple syrup (or to taste)
1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and quartered
1 cup fresh blueberries
1 large orange, thinly sliced and quartered
1 lemon, thinly sliced
1 cup sparkling water or club soda, chilled (optional, for serving)
Fresh mint sprigs, for garnish

Instructions

Step 1: In a large pitcher, combine the sliced strawberries, blueberries, orange slices, and lemon slices. Gently muddle the fruit slightly to release some of its juices and aromatics.
Step 2: Pour in the red wine, brandy, and orange liqueur over the fruit. Add the simple syrup. Stir gently to combine all ingredients.
Step 3: Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight. This chilling time allows the flavors to meld beautifully and the fruit to infuse the liquid.
Step 4: Just before serving, taste the sangria and adjust sweetness if desired. For a lighter, sparkling version, stir in the chilled sparkling water or club soda.
Step 5: Fill glasses with ice. Pour the sangria over the ice, ensuring each glass gets a generous portion of the fruit. Garnish with fresh mint sprigs and serve immediately. Enjoy your delightful summer sangria recipes!

Notes

For best results, allow the sangria to chill overnight. You can substitute red wine with white or rosé for different variations of these fantastic summer sangria recipes. Adjust the amount of simple syrup to your preferred sweetness level.
