Description

Say goodbye to dry turkey burgers! This easy-to-follow recipe guarantees incredibly moist and delicious turkey burgers packed with savory flavor, perfect for a healthy weeknight meal or a casual cookout. This is truly the best turkey burger recipe you'll find!

Ingredients

Scale

1.25 lbs (about 560g) ground turkey (93% lean / 7% fat)
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup plain breadcrumbs (or gluten-free breadcrumbs)
1 large egg, lightly beaten
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)
4 burger buns (toasted, optional)
Your favorite toppings (lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, cheese, avocado, etc.)

Instructions

Step 1: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, smoked paprika, dried oregano, black pepper, and salt. Use your hands to gently mix until all ingredients are just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can lead to tough burgers.
Step 2: Divide the turkey mixture into 4 equal portions. Gently form each portion into a patty, about 1-inch thick and slightly wider than your burger buns. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb to prevent it from bulging during cooking.
Step 3: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat, or preheat your grill to medium. Once hot, carefully place the turkey patties onto the skillet or grill.
Step 4: Cook the patties for 5-7 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C). Avoid pressing down on the patties with your spatula, as this will press out the juices.
Step 5: If desired, lightly toast the burger buns during the last minute of cooking the patties.
Step 6: Remove the cooked turkey burgers from the heat. Assemble your burgers on toasted buns with your favorite toppings. Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious turkey burger recipe!

Notes

To ensure extra juiciness, you can add 1-2 tablespoons of grated zucchini or finely chopped mushrooms to the mixture. Make sure to squeeze out any excess liquid from the vegetables first.
