Ingredients
3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
2 large eggs
½ cup milk
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup peach preserves
½ cup cookie crumbs
Red and yellow food coloring
Fresh mint leaves
Instructions
Step 1: Cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until fluffy.
Step 2: Add eggs, vanilla, and milk, mixing until well combined.
Step 3: Sift in flour and baking powder to form a soft dough; chill for 30 minutes.
Step 4: Roll dough into 1-inch balls and bake at 350°F for 12-15 minutes.
Step 5: Hollow out the bottoms of warm cookies and mix crumbs with peach preserves.
Step 6: Fill cavities, join two cookies together, dip in coloring, and roll in sugar.
Step 7: Garnish with mint leaves and let set before serving.
